How to Set Up Professional Email on Your Domain with 97cents.net

A professional email address like you@yourdomain.com makes your business look established and trustworthy. Generic Gmail or Yahoo addresses are fine for personal use, but if you're running a business, a custom domain email tells customers you mean business — and it's included free with your 97cents.net hosting plan.

What's Included

All for 97 cents a month. Most dedicated email services charge more than that for a single address.

Step 1: Log In to Your Control Panel

Use the login details from your welcome email to access your control panel.

Step 2: Find the Email Section

Look for Email Accounts or E-Mail Management in your control panel. Click Create New Account or Add Email Account.

Step 3: Create Your Email Address

Fill in the details:

Click Create and your email address is ready.

Step 4: Access Your Webmail

You can check your email from any browser. Go to yourdomain.com/webmail (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain) and log in with your new email address and password. You'll see a webmail interface where you can read, send, and manage emails.

Step 5: Connect to Your Email App (Optional)

Prefer to use Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or your phone's mail app? Here are the settings you'll need:

Setting Value
Incoming mail server (IMAP) mail.yourdomain.com
IMAP port 993 (SSL) or 143 (non-SSL)
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
Username Your full email address (you@yourdomain.com)
Password The password you set in Step 3
Authentication Required (use same username and password)

Most email apps will auto-detect these settings when you enter your email address and password. If it asks for manual setup, use the values above.

Setting Up Email Forwarding

Want all emails forwarded to your Gmail or another address? In your control panel, find Email Forwarders or Forwarding. Create a forwarder for your email address, enter the destination address, and every email will automatically be sent there. You can also keep a copy in the mailbox if you prefer.

Setting Up an Auto-Responder

Going on holiday or need an automated reply? In your control panel, find Auto-Responders. Create one for your email address, write your message, and every email sent to you will automatically get a reply.

Tips for Managing Email Storage

Your 197MB plan is shared between your website files and email. Here's how to keep email usage low:

If you find email is taking too much of your 197MB, you can always forward all emails to a free Gmail or Outlook account and keep a copy on the server for backup. That way you get the professional address without the storage worry.
