Step 1: Log In to Your Control Panel
After signing up, you'll receive a welcome email with your control panel login details. Head to your control panel URL (included in the email), enter your username and password, and you're in.
Step 2: Find Softaculous
Look for the Softaculous Apps Installer icon in your control panel — it's usually in the Software section. Click it to open the Softaculous dashboard, where you'll see hundreds of one-click installable applications.
Step 3: Find WordPress
At the top of Softaculous, you'll see a search bar. Type "WordPress" and click on the WordPress result. You'll see an Install button — click it.
Step 4: Configure Your Install
Softaculous will ask you a few questions. Here's what to fill in:
- Software Setup → Domain: Select your domain from the dropdown
- Directory: Leave blank to install at yourdomain.com, or type a folder name to install at yourdomain.com/blog/
- Site Name: Your website or blog name
- Site Description: A short tagline (you can change this later)
- Admin Account → Admin Username: Pick something unique — not "admin"
- Admin Password: Use a strong password
- Admin Email: Where password recovery emails go
Everything else can stay at default. Scroll down and click Install.
Step 5: Wait 30 Seconds
That's it. Softaculous creates the database, copies the files, and configures WordPress automatically. You'll see a progress bar, then a success message with your new WordPress admin URL (usually yourdomain.com/wp-admin/).
Step 6: Log In to WordPress
Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ and log in with the username and password you set in Step 4. You're now in the WordPress dashboard — ready to choose a theme, install plugins, and write your first post.
How Much Space Does WordPress Use?
A fresh WordPress install takes about 23MB of disk space. Your 97cents.net plan includes 197MB, leaving you 174MB for themes, plugins, images, and content. That's plenty for most blogs and business sites — a typical WordPress site with a theme, a few plugins, and dozens of images uses 40–80MB.
